Can Broncos Reverse Fortunes in Super Bowl Rematch?

Certainly a lot of people felt the Denver Broncos were going to emerge victorious in the last Super Bowl. In fact, they were a favorite in the pro football odds at BetAnySports. So it was quite shocking for many fans to see the Broncos get flummoxed by the Seattle Seahawks, who bottled up the explosive passing attack of Peyton Manning & Co. en route to a 43-8 win. Now these teams get together again, this time not at MetLife Stadium but at CenturyLink Field, a decidedly unfriendly venue for Seattle opponents, as Sunday’s NFL betting action gets underway at 4:25 PM ET.
It is quite possible that both of these teams may have been looking ahead to this titanic matchup. The Seahawks did not look like themselves and they lost to the San Diego Chargers, while the Broncos had all they could handle from a Kansas City Chiefs team that is suffering from a lot of injuries. So now there they are, and it is time for Denver to out up or shut up. They have new defensive stars like DeMarcus Ware and Aqib Talib, and they hope those guys can help them close the gap.
Denver is 2-0, having beaten the Indianapolis Colts in the opening week. Seattle is 1-1. Between the two starting quarterbacks (Manning and Russell Wilson), there are ten touchdown passes without an interception.

Manning had 55 touchdown passes last season, but that didn’t mean a thing to the ferocious Seattle defense, which had the physical secondary people to deal with Denver’s receivers. One of the people they will test is Wes Welker, the tiny slot receiver who was reinstated by a change in the NFL’s drug policy, and is eligible to play on Sunday.
One question for those analyzing the pro football odds here is how much Manning is going to attack Richard Sherman, who was avoided completely by Aaron Rodgers in the season opener but exploited to some extent by Philip Rivers of San Diego last week. You would figure Sherman will keep a close eye on Demariyus Thomas, although Emmanuel Sanders, who was acquired in the off-season, is Denver’s leading receiver (14 catches, 185 yards).

Now they get to face another one, who is brilliant enough in his pocket to benefit from painful lessons learned.
