Cowboys vs Giants Among Five Great Matchups in our NFL Week 7 Preview

By Charles Jay

New York Giants vs Dallas Cowboys

Can the New York Giants get over their malaise from last week? They better do that in a hurry, as they have to face a bitter rival which also happens to be tied for the best record in the NFL. They make a trip to AT&T Stadium this Sunday to play the Dallas Cowboys, and if people tell you they aren’t shocked that Dallas is sitting at 5-1 and held the Seattle Seahawks to nine first downs in a victory at CenturyLink Field, they would be lying. DeMarco Murray now has six straight 100-yard games to start the season, and that puts him in lofty company (joined only by Jim Brown). And the Giants seemed to give up at some point during the third quarter of their 27-0 shutout loss to Philadelphia. They have also lost the services of wide receiver Victor Cruz, which makes it that much more difficult for Eli Manning. And they are catching 6.5 points in the NFL odds at BetAnySports in this 4:25 PM ET start.

NFL Week 7 Preview Fab Five Match Ups

Cincinnati Bengals vs Indianapolis Colts

The game between the Indianapolis Colts and Cincinnati Bengals (1 PM ET) has to be considered a “big five” matchup for various reasons, not the least of which is that the Bengals, who everybody seemed to jump the gun about after only three games, are now showing signs of vulnerability, and people like Tom Brady and Cam Newton have been able to do a lot of business against the, This is fertile territory for Andrew Luck, who can put together three touchdowns in a matter of minutes. An encouraging sign for Cincy is the fact that Mohamed Sanu proved he can function as the feature receiver, as he topped the 100-yard mark against Carolina. Of course, they would hate to have to go through another week without AJ Green (missed last Sunday’s game with a toe injury). At BetAnySports, the Colts are three-favorites at Lucas Oil Stadium.

New Orleans Saints vs Detroit Lions

There are some injury concerns surrounding both Calvin Johnson and Jimmy Graham as the New Orleans Saints pay a visit to Ford Field to face the Detroit Lions (1 PM ET), who bottled up Teddy Bridgewater pretty good last week (three INT’s). But this isn’t rookie the stout Lion defense is facing; they’ll line up against Drew Brees, who, by the way, was also intercepted three times the last time he took the field, including a pick-six, as the Saints had to mount a big comeback to tie Tampa Bay and eventually win it in overtime. The Saints, as most NFL odds bettors know, are generally not at their best when traveling, so BetAnySports customers are cautious considering them as the 2.5-point underdog in this game.

Kansas City Chiefs vs San Diego Chargers

The San Diego Chargers are at 5-1 straight-up at the moment, although they seemed a little flat in Oakland last week. In the last meeting they had with the Kansas City Chiefs, San Diego had to struggle for an overtime win and qualification as a wild card, even though the Chargers were facing what was essentially a second-team unit (Kansas City had already clinched a playoff spot). The Bolts are led by Philip Rivers, who has a brilliant ratio of 15 touchdown passes to just two interceptions, as he looks to be even more efficient than last year. BetAnySports has the Chargers as four-point favorites in the NFL odds at Qualcomm Stadium, but keep an eye in KC, which has covered ten of its last 11 regular season road games.

San Francisco 49ers vs Denver Broncos

The Sunday night game (8:30 PM ET) features the San Francisco 49ers putting their three-game winning streak on the line against the Denver Broncos, as Peyton Manning, who had three TD passes against the Jets last week, has the opportunity, with three more, to surpass Brett Favre as the all-time leader. Manning has connected with Demariyus Thomas for 350 yards in the last two games. San Francisco made some nice defensive adjustments in the second half of Monday night’s game against St. Louis’ Austin Davis, but that was a guy making his fourth career start. Manning has seen it all before. His team is laying 6.5 points in the NFL odds at BetAnySports, where you can place wagers on all the games in progress on a huge Sunday afternoon!
