This game, like all Monday night games, is televised by ESPN, and while VietBet customers are watching it live, they can also place wagers in real time with the assistance of Live Betting Ultra.

Texans vs Broncos – CJ’s Take:

The Texans are 4-2 on the season, with all four wins coming at home and both losses on the road. They were emaciated by both the New England Patriots (27-0) and Minnesota Vikings (31-13). So they are in a position where they have yet to prove themselves as the visitor.

As far as the back story is concerned, this marks the return to Denver of Brock Osweiler, the quarterback who made seven starts for the Broncos last year and then took a big free-agent contract to move on. Osweiler has delivered mixed results for Houston, as he has indeed led them to this winning record, but has not shown a lot of accuracy, relative to the average (59%), does not get the ball down the field all whole lot (6.2 yards per attempt) and turns the ball over as well (eight interceptions). So he’ll have his hands full with his old teammates, who, if nothing else, make it very difficult on opposing quarterbacks.

Osweiler will be throwing into the teeth of a defense that has so far surrendered only 56% completions and 5.6 yards per attempt. That means yards will be hard to come by. The Broncos have sacked opposing signal-callers 21 times, and even though Osweiler has been the beneficiary of Denver’s great defensive play in the past, he has not yet been on the receiving end of the monster pass rush.

And will have to see about how fit Will Fuller is for this game. He had to sit out last week’s game against the Indianapolis Colts with a hamstring injury, but his presence is so important, because what it does is give the Texans another threatening wide receiver along with DeAndre Hopkins. Head coach Bill O’Brien knows that Osweiler is not likely to beat the Broncos solely with his arm, so this is where Lamar Miller, who has elevated his average to 4.2 yards per carry, comes into play.

VietBet customers know that when it comes down to getting deep into their opponents territory, the Texans have not been very proficient, and that could be a real deathknell for this team, especially playing on the road. Houston converts only 40% of its red zone trips into touchdowns, and only one team in the NFL – the New York Jets – has been worse.

What might be a saving grace here for Houston is that Trevor Siemian has fewer NFL starts than his counterpart, and he is also a guy who is just learning the ropes. They became good friends last season when they were backup quarterbacks together in Denver, but Osweiler was considered the guy with the stronger arm. Whether that’s true or not probably remains to be seen. Siemian has fairly decent numbers, as he has completed 65% of his passes with seven touchdowns, but he had only 230 yards through the air in the last game against the San Diego Chargers, despite the fact that he put it up 50 times.

Denver has lost its last two games, and they have come against capable veteran quarterbacks in Matt Ryan and Philip Rivers. Osweiler has the capability of engineering some impressive touchdown drives, but he is still a guy who isn’t necessarily that proficient in working his team down the field, or getting it over the goal line when they get in close. That could be the difference in this Monday night football game.

Next up for each team:

  • Houston home to Detroit Sunday, October 30
  • Denver home to San Diego Sunday, October 30
