AC Milan finished in seventh place in last year’s Serie A with 57 points from 15 wins, 12 draws and 11 losses with 49 goals scored and 43 allowed. They were 32 points behind champions Juventus. AC Milan beat French Ligue 1 team FC Girondins de Bordeaux 2-1 on July 17th in their first preseason contest. It was the first game in charge for new manager Vincenzo Montella who is the team’s seventh manager since 2014.

Liverpool – A Closer Look:

Liverpool dropped their first ICC tournament match 1-0 on Wednesday against fellow English Premier League club Chelsea at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, California. Gary Cahill scored the winner in the 10th minute and Liverpool played the last 20 minutes with a man advantage when Cesc Fabregas was sent off with a red card. Reds’ 20-year-old midfielder Marko Grujic went to the hospital after suffering a head injury in the game.

Liverpool FC is another of England’s most successful clubs with a fine history. The team, which was founded in 1892, has been named champions of Europe on five occasions and has also won three UEFA Super Cups, three UEFA Cups, 18 English League championships, seven FA Cups and eight League Cups. Liverpool finished eighth in the Premier League last season with 60 points from 16 victories, 12 draws and 10 defeats with 63 goals scored and 50 allowed. Manager Jurgen Klopp of Germany signed a contract extension in the offseason and he made numerous player moves.

The club acquired Joel Matip of Schalke, Loris Karius of FSV Mainz 05, Sadio Mane from Southampton, Ragnar Klavan from Augsburg, and Alex Manninger from Augsburg. Players that left Liverpool include Kolo Toure, Jordan Rossiter, Jose Enrique, Martin Skrtel, Jordon Ibe and Adam Bogdan. Liverpool has won four of their five preseason games with their most recent victory being 2-0 over second-tier English Championship side Huddersfield Town AFC. They’ve also beaten lower division English clubs Tranmere Rovers, Fleetwood Town and Wigan Athletic.
